Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Set Review

Too Faced is gracing us with so many list-worthy makeup gifts in their Joy to the Girls Collection this Holiday season. At the top of my list is the SEPHORA exclusive  "A Few of My Favorite Things" set ($56). Curated by Founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino this set comes with a stylish chevron makeup case, a large palette made up of 20 eyeshadows, two blushes, two of their most popular regular line bronzers, deluxe size of the best mascara ever, and a full size Color Bomb lip injection in the exclusive shade Bee Sting.
My Favorite Things is my favorite Holiday set this year, not only for the stellar products inside of  it but the value is incredible! This will definitely be making its way on to my gift giving list and would be a great way to spend that SEPHORA VIB Gift Card that just arrived  :)

Included makeup cases aren't usually all that special, but this pink & gold chevron print cosmetic pouch designed by celebrity decorated Mary McDonald is so pretty! It's made well enough to use for travel or as a purse makeup bag and the chevron print is so on trend right now.
The My Favorite Things Set features:
  • 20 Eye Shadows (0.06 oz ea) in Snowflakes, Whiskers on Kittens, Chocolate Milk, Moon on their Wings, Dark Chocolate, Cream Colored Ponies, Honey Honey, Busch de Noel, Evergreen, Blue Satin Sashes, Coquet, Taffy, Crisp Apple Strudel, Woolen Mittens, SoirĂ©e, Tinsel, Bluff, Ooh La Orchid, Party Time, Pure Glam
  • 2 Blushes (0.14 oz/ea) in Raindrops on Roses and Melt into Spring
  • 2 Bronzers (0.14 oz/ea) in Sun Bunny and Chocolate Soleil
  • How-to Glamour Guide
Inside the palette are 20 eyeshadows ranging from warm, cool, glitter, matte, color & neutrals. There really is a mix of everything in here. The formula's are excellent, buttery smooth, with pigmentation running about equal in both the mattes and shimmers. Along with the classic colors it was nice to see some unique shades and duo-chrome finishes in here which you don't often see in Holiday palette's.

I've been using this palette sooo much since I received it, the soft golds and chocolate browns are perfect for the Fall/Holiday season and there's some really unique colors to delve in to in here as well. Tinsel, Buff, Coquet & Crisp Apple Strudel are my favorites. The shimmer is more reflective and sheeny than over the top in sparkle. Cream Colored Peonies, Chocolate Milk, and Woolen Mittens create a really nice everyday matte neutral eye look.
In 20 eyeshadow's there's only a few dud's, notably Ooh La Orchid which lacks pigmentation and Party Time only because it doesn't apply like it looks in the pan. Party Time's teal duo chrome finish will look exceptional over a dark base though. Another very small issue is that some of the matte's include glitter particles. This just seem unnecessary because with a tap of the brush most of it disappears before it gets to the eyes, for me this negative was a positive though as I don't care for glitter eyeshadow.

The bottom half of the palette contains two blushes and two bronzers and could very well be a standalone Spring face Palette.

*sorry about the photo lighting, there's no getting past the overcast grey Seattle sky's.
Raindrops on Roses is a medium warm pink overlayed with gold shimmer. Melt in to Spring a matte coral. Both are very flattering to most skintones and apply and blend well. Raindrops is a face brightening pink and the shimmer is light and not overpowering. Melt in to Spring is a very Springlike blush color, it's slightly powdery but very heavily pigmented so tread lightly with the brush.

Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is one of Too Faced's most popular bronzers and this is a great way to give it a try. Chocolate Soleil is a medium-dark warm bronzer with a matte finish. Even though it's the darker shade it applies sheer meaning even us pale girls can use it without fear of the color going orange or muddy. I compared it next to my Milk Chocolate bronzer if you were trying to decide between the two. Both are silky smooth matte bronzers and smell delicious, just like Hot Chocolate! Milk Chocolate is excellent for an all over color boost or contouring very pale skin, but I think most will be able to get away with using the Chocolate.
Sun Bunny is split in to two sides, both are warm light and medium bronzer shades with a strong shimmer. If you like very shimmery bronzing products these will hit the mark, they go on very silky and have a gorgeous golden glow.
I've reviewed Too Faced's Better Than Sex Mascara here. Absolutely my favorite mascara right now.
Color Bomb Lip Injection in Bee Sting
If you've ever experienced Too Faced's lip injection glosses you know there is no pleasure with out pain. Bee Sting is a pinked nude that really does leave your lips looking bee stung. However, for me this BURNS like ALL HELL. (I prefer to plump my lips with this crazy contraption. No pain!) Few people experience this kind of sensitivity, if you don't it has a great balmy texture, excellent color coverage, and the neutral color goes with just about anything.

Sometimes Holiday makeup sets can feel like made to sell makeup where the quality and creativity suffers for a packaged deal. Not the case here, Too Faced's My Favorite Things is jam packed with shades and products that you'll be able to use all year round and the price is unbeatable. List it :)
