Review: Anastasia Holiday 2012 Kisses On My List & Want You to Want Me Palette

It seems as if many of my reviews of late are something new from Anastasia, but her products have been lighting me up now that I've opted for a more neutral makeup routine. Anastasia's Holiday 2012 Collection features Kisses On My List Vol. 2 and the Want You To Want Me Palette. With a nod to 70's glam and decadence the color palette doesn't feel very Holiday, but I guarantee that every girl would love these sets under their tree.
The Want You To Want Me Palette ($34) has a beautiful velvet rose gold chained presentation that inside features an eyeshadow palette made up of nine matte and pearlized nude and plum shades. Also included in the set is a dual-ended brush, Jet Black Liquid Eye Liner and Mini Clear Brow Gel to turn your eyes into a velvet goldmine.
This palette is a 70's glam mix of nudes, bronze, and plum's with two really stand out shades, a sparkly bronze and eggplant. Unlike other Anastasia eyeshadow palette's this one just isn't as pigmented and the color pay off in half of the shades is lacking. The standouts in this set were the mini liquid liner and clear brow gel mini's. The liquid liner has a thin brush and applies a rich jet black as the name suggests, I didn't expect it to be so nice! The clear brow gel is already a staple of mine, it's a fabulous product for setting the brows and worth getting full size. The packaging of WYTWM is so elegant you can't help but want it, but the eyeshadow's are just mediocre. It's like opening a Tiffany's box only to find a $20 gift card to Lowe's :)
Anastasia Kisses On My List Vol. 2 is a limited-edition HydraFull Gloss Set that includes three sheer, ultra-hydrating glosses and three new and exclusive Hypercolor glosses. Hydrafull Glosses are non-sticky, long wearing, moisturizing, aka the perfect lipgloss. Now this is a set worth purchasing. If you love subtle shimmering pinks, nudes, or mlbb's put this on your list. The shade's appear similar in the tube, but they're actually all quite different. What's unique about the hypercolor glosses is that they react with your own skin's chemistry to stain your lips a shade that's uniquely you. They apply one color, then check a few minutes later and they've become something slightly different and even more pretty. Jolene was my favorite, it goes on a sheer medium pink but brightens up after the magic happens. The glosses have the spatula applicator, which I'm growing to like, the thin side lets you apply gloss evenly and get close to the lipline. Kisses on my List retails for $30 which equals out to $5 for a full size gloss. Loving the 70's rock names!
Maggie May, Moi, Sharona, Jolene, Lola, Roxanne
Anastasia has released these rockin face charts to help create your holiday set looks. Cherry Bomb, Heart of Glass, Heartbreaker... Just the use of song names would make me want these :)

FOTD: 90's Grunge Makeup

Living in Seattle this is one look I know a lot about because it's never left town :) Seeing "grunge couture" making the rounds in the fashion world again is almost comical. The 90's alternative and grunge scene is when I first discovered rock n roll and will forever be my favorite time in music. Speaking off, if you're ever in Seattle check out the EMP, they have a Nirvana Exhibit showing that is a must see. Viewing the personal writing's and having a behind the scenes look at the music is so enlightening ...Okay! I'm supposed to be sharing my makeup for the day not reminiscing about my teenage years.

"90's grunge" is a makeup look that I've been gravitating towards lately. Done in about 5 minutes it has that effortless "i don't give a f*ck" strung out glamour that was defined by women like Courtney Love and later Brody Dalle. One matte brown eyeshadow, or in this case a too orange bronzer doubled as eyeshadow, quick smudge of liner & mascara, red lip and you're ready to rock the town...or methadone clinic? ..kiiiddding :)

My fondness for the grunge look right now might have something to do with my faaaavorite new boots Steve Madden Women's Tarnney Ankle Boots I want to live in these everyday..for the rest of my life. Lulus.com & Nordstrom carry them, and I just found the gold spiked ones at my Nordstrom Rack for $99, scooore! check yours :)

Review: Maskeraide Sheet Masks (your face will thank you)

Maskeraide is a new line of incredibly chic facial sheet masks that combine playful design with serious ingredients. Sheet masks are huge in the asia beauty market, but honestly I thought they looked a bit crazy! After trying them out I may never go back to my trusty queen helene mint julep green face again. Although I'm not sure which one looks more silly on :)
Sheet masks are special type of facial mask made from a thin fiber sheet that is cut to contour to your face. The fibre mask is soaked in a highly concentrated serum that is infused with vitamins and nutrients. Each mask is formulated with an Argan Oil base serum, which leaves the skin feeling fresh, smooth and extremely hydrated. Maskeraide is Paraben Free, Mineral Oil Free, Pigment Free, Artificial Fragrance Free, Glycerin Free, Vegan Friendly and Eco Friendly. The masks are available in two different serums. A clear base that's great for day time and under makeup and a cream based serum which works wonders at night.

Weather Warrior, Pre-Party Prep, Beauty Rest'ore, I don't wanna grow up, Detox Diva, All Nighter. The packaging and names of these masks are adorable! They had me with the attention to detail. I love how instead of the typical "for dry skin, blemishes, oily skin etc." they're tailored to when you would use them. After a night of partying, harsh weather, before a date, relaxation. It's a very cool concept.
I tried out "Beauty Rest'ore" first. Why is it the girl on the package looks so glamorous in her mask yet I look like Jason Voorhees? :) There's just no making this look cool, you WILL frighten everyone in your household.
And after. So sorry for my makeupless face, it's probably more scary than the slasher mask, but I think the point of skincare treatments are to show what it can do for your skin under the makeup. I've been putting my face through some aha/bha/glycolic peels to fade my vacation tan & a lot of theater makeup over Halloween. All of which are pretty harsh, and this mask brought my skin back to life. It left my skin feeling amazingly soft and hydrated and the light lavender scent is calming and relaxing. The sheets are drenched in liquidy skin food and I could feel the effects right away, but the real proof is the next morning when you awake to glowing skin. I wish they would bottle this stuff! I would use it every day. I passed a few of these along to my girlfriends to try and they all had great things to say. Pre-party Prep being the favorite for a day mask for it's tightening & brightening effects and Beauty Re'store & I Don't Wanna Grow Up for the nighttime beauty regimen. There really isn't one better than the other, just choose what suits you needs best...or get them all!
Even Demi and Jessica Simpson are doing it :) Next hot celebrity trend?

Face Mask's are a necessary indulgence that everyone should treat themselves to and these are some of the most luxurious I've tried. With the holiday's coming up they would make great gifts or beauty stocking stuffer's!
All six super cute super hydrating budget friendly masks ($4.99) are available at maskeraide.com
