FOTD: Birthday Party Glam

I'm not one for fancy pants looks, but I'm headed to a cocktail party tonight in early celebration (mourning?) of my birthday, where I'll officially be an adult ;) so I thought I'd try and look like one. Eyes were done with the UD Naked Palette and LIT beach babe glitter. I deviated from the usual red/hot pink lips for Pandora's Makeup Box lipstick in Sunshine, a bright coral orange.

One thing I am NOT is a hair stylist. Mine is in desperate need of a cut, and I'm trying to grow out my bangs so they're in that awkward stage, but I reallly tried to make it polished for once. With the help of SOLIA Ionic 20 hot roller set from Folica I think I'm halfway there! I like this set because it heats quickly and doesn't cause frizz. For this style I sprayed my dry hair with diluted Lottabody setting lotion (you can get this at sallys) and rolled 1-2 in. sections under using the medium rollers. I then lightly brushed out the curls with a large round brush and gave it a shot of John Frieda Crystal Blonde hairspray. A smooch goodbye for a week or so! I'm crazy busy with traveling and my birthday, very little time left to blog or reply to emails, so I hope there's enough here to keep you entertained for a lil bit :)

Shortly after I proclaim in true jaded makeup artist form that I'm soooo over MAC Collection's... This truly outrageous JEM of a hot pink lipstick from the Iris Apfel Collection comes in to my life and our love is rekindled all over again.

Makeup Inspiration: COVERGIRL Lip Perfection

Can we get a HELL YES for real models selling makeup again?
I haven't been impressed with a cosmetics company ad campaign
in ages. The Covergirl looks on Stam created by Pat are breathtaking aren't they?
Can't wait to try and recreate those looks, I even went out and bought the lipstick!

Spellbound is a deep blue based fuchsia. The formula is creamy, rich in color, and long lasting. Basically everything I look for in a lipstick. It photographed brighter, but in reality it's more like the color in the tube and the advertisement. Wonderful little drugstore find :)

FOTD: Christian Dior SS11 Runway Candy Color POP

OUT is a bunch of colors blended together, IN is one strong color on the eyes. I loved the Warhol-esque Pop Art glamour at the Dior SS11 show. It was strikingly graphic yet simple.


To take this look from runway to every day simply switch out the "paint" finish and opt for one of the bright Make Up Forever Aqua Cream's swiped across the lids. I'm digging these mega brows, if they didn't look so ridic in person I'd wear them. Fake bangs? Never again.
