FOTD- Christian Dior A/W 2010 Haute Couture
Christian Dior A/W 2010-11 Haute Couture show left me speechless. I mean we can expect nothing less from DIOR, but this year was extra stunning. The girls looked like flower's plucked from Galliano's garden. The makeup, headed by Pat McGrath, featured bold, vivid, color blocked styles with strong painted on brows. All of the models wore similar yet slightly different versions of the look.

Review: Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips
Phyisican's Formula is one of my favorite drugstore brands, it's affordable, quality products, and you can find them down the aisles of your local store. Does anyone remember when they put out that powder with a Marilyn Monroe face imprinted in it? I searched everywhere for that! I've always thought of Physician's Formula as a "neutral's line" geared more towards natural beauty makeup, but their new Eye Color coordinating Shimmer Strips products feature vibrantly bold hues of eye popping color that rival their high end counter parts.Check it out!

EOTD - Make Up Forever Ultra Violet
I noticed purple was big again this Fall, as it usually is, so I had a go at the gorgeous Danny Sanz Ultra Violet 09 look. I applied MUFE #92 to my brows, and over a black base of MUFE Aqua Liner 01 on the lid. It photographed on the cool side, but looked much more true to color in real life. Skip the crazy brows and this would make a great smokey plum eye for Fall.
Make Up Forever Blush (no idea why they call it this) #92 is a cult favorite of Makeup Artists and consumers alike, and for a very good reason, it's the most amazing purple ever! I use it in nearly every look that calls for the hue.
Products Used:
Make Up Forever Concealer Palette Lavender through brows
MUFE # 92 w/ angle brush to define brows
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MUFE Aqua Liner 01 all over lid as base & liner
MUFE #92 on lid/blended in crease/lower lash
MUFE #3 & #35 highlight
Fantasy Makers Witchy lashes
Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer #1 under eyes

FOTD - Clear Blue Sky's
I don't wear much make up in the summer, it's neutrals & hot pink lips daily, but I was feeling colorful today. This was inspired by the sea & sky..bright, but soft & natural. I spent some time in Santa Monica over the summer and fell in love with the area...it's laid back, artsy, campy, beautiful beaches, good cafe's & nightlife, and blue sky's..basically Seattle with better weather!

FOTD - Gaga Telephone "Sandwhich Scene"
No I don't ride the trendy train... I've been a Gaga fan for a long time, like REALLY long time...before she even had a record out or anyone really knew about her we were bangin out her demo's. I had the privilege of seeing her at a hole in the wall club before the "fame". She stole and ate my heart right then and there, then devoured it all over again at the "Monster Ball". The "sandwich scene' in the Telephone video was one of my favorite looks, it's just so sinister and technically "ugly" I had to give in and do it!
FOTD- Neon Electro
I haven't done something just for the sake of being creative in awhile! I wanted to test out some UV products & painting lashes, but then I couldn't find my blacklight...figures! The paint splatter inspiration came from a neon windbreaker I had in the early 90's, it was my favorite piece of clothing ever. Flying my freak flag high since 82.

File Under: Weird! but Fly!
Artist Jessica Harrison created this piece called FlyLegs. They are lashes made out of actual dead FLY LEGS and individually attached at the lashline. Are you as ewww grossed out as I am right about now? Now I love crazy lashes, the weird, obscene, creative, & gross, but these are a little out there even for me!
I think I'll stick to Sea Horses!

FOTD - Style Icon: Bardot/60's film inspired
I was flipping through this month's Allure and came across a 2 page spread on Brigitte Bardot...I figured I hadn't done any reference makeup in awhile so why not! I love "the bardot" hairstyles, but she wasn't one of my favorite's for makeup. Mainly because her look was about what suited her features, unlike creating a "character" like Marilyn or Twiggy. Fully rimmed black kohl eyes are hard to pull off for blondes. Still, elements of her look can be amazing when done correctly, and it's one we constantly see referenced in modern day styles. This is my take on her more toned down film/headshot look, medium on the liner and keeping everything matte for a 60's film vibe.
Just be careful it doesn't turn in to this! Oh Pammy! Girrrrrl!
