NYE Lips with Kristofer Buckle Cashmere Slip® Day and Night

It's time to transform your lips for NYE with Kristofer Buckle Cashmere Slip® Day and Night. This set features two Cashmere Slip® lipstick shades Gala and Hush that deliver creamy, richly pigmented color while Lip Craft™ Lip Topcoat adds multidimensional shine and a glitter finish. Creating a customized bold holiday lip look is as easy as 1-2-3! This set is a must-have to complete your sparkly glam New Years Eve look!

In November I reviewed a sampling of the Kristofer Buckle Line available on QVC (check it out here!) Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle is known in Hollywood for creating flawless looks and ensuring his clients’ features are highlighted to perfection. He is a modern makeup master. Kristofer Buckle makeup innovations are available at QVC, achieving the impeccable results you’ve been seeking has never been easier.

This Holiday Kiss is made possible with the Cashmere Slip® Day and Night set in Gala/Hush. The Cashmere Slip lipstick delivers creamy, richly pigmented color while the Lip Craft Lip Topcoat adds multidimensional shine and a glitter finish. For the perfect pout, apply to lips along natural lip line and create dimension with Lip Craft on top.

I fell in love with the Cashmere Slip lipstick's the first time around. So much that I bought this set on QVC even before they reached out to me so now I will be gifting one to my friends! This set is just as luxurious on the lips as the Cashmere Slip duo in Obsessed/Dare. The texture is silky smooth with Shea Butter and Cucumber extract to hydrate and soothe the lips while also being long wearing. It feels weightless on the lips! My favorite lip color is one that looks high maintenance but feels like wearing nothing at all.

Gala/Hush are two beautiful and slightly unexpected shades for the holidays. Gala is a mid-tone Pomegranate Berry with Hush being a trendy mauvey brown that actually looks good. The colors are brilliantly rich and pigmented with a semi-matte finish. You can wear the shades alone, or layer them for a customized look.

Lip Craft Top Coat is the perfect gloss. Non-sticky, high shine, with a soft vanilla scent. There is just enough sparkle in here to bring the lips to life, giving them multi-dimensional shine with out overpowering the lip colors underneath. The copper rose gold glitter finish dazzles with sophistication. It looks amazing over both colors! Adding depth and toning down the brightness in Gala, while adding shimmering glassy dimension to Hush.

I wanted to share a full face KB New Years Eve makeup look, but I have been battling the flu for the last week and it is not cute! Instead I'm trying out the Day to Night lip color options, so if I do make it off the couch for the ball drop I will have my lip color ready to go. I knew Gala would be a favorite simply because it's such a me color. The sweet pomegranate shade has that just in from the cold rosy look that is made for Winter. It perks up the complexion while the semi-matte finish gives a plush softness to the bold shade.

Applying Lip Craft Top Coat over Gala takes it to the next level. It gives it such high shine dimension! The copper sparkle of the gloss tones down the brightness a bit for a more bronzed berry appearance.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hush! I have never once found a brown based lipstick that looked like anything but death on me. I thought this would lean too brown for my fair cool complexion by the swatches. Once applied though, Hush had 90's grunge/supermodel lip written all over it. I couldn't believe it! A trendy brown based matte lipstick that actually looked flattering? Kristofer Buckle is a color crafting genius.

Adding Lip Craft Top Coat liberally, focusing on the center of the lips to plump up the volume,  transforms the look of Hush in to something extra special. This lip gloss is NYE in a tube, full on reflective shine.

I normally wear red exclusively during the Holidays, but I really loved how fresh this lip look is. It is modern, sexy, and glamorous.

Cashmere Slip® Day and Night Duo is perfect for for you or anyone who loves a bold holiday lip. What I love about the Day to Night set is that it is not just a special occasion trio, the lip colors work beautifully for Winter and year round. Can you believe this set is only $24? That is a mega steal for this level of quality, luxury products. As Kristofer says, “Wear lipstick like it’s a crown. Own it!”

BOXYCHARM Glitz & Glam Subscription Box

BoxyCharm is bringing the sparkle for December in the Glitz & Glam subscription box. This box is perfectly curated for the perfect New Years Eve look! For $21 mo. BOXYCHARM gives you 4-5 full size beauty items with free shipping. Give it as a gift, or gift it to yourself!

Real Her Blush Kit ($32)
Treat your cheeks to an instant natural glow with 3 shimmery tones. This blush kit is so pretty! The colors have a slight shimmer to them making them a blush and highlighter and one. I think this trio will be really nice for Springtime too.

Crown Brush Deluxe Blush Brush ($12)
With super soft dense, synthetic bristles, this brush can  be used with both powder and cream blushes, and provides medium to full coverage for a more dramatic finish. Crown Brushes are excellent and affordable. This brush is dense enough to work with cream blushes and I like that they included it with the blush palette in the box.

Pretty Vulgar My Lips are Sealed Lightweight Lipstick ($24)
A highly pigmented liquid lipstick that provides a radiant metallic finish, nice comfortable creamy texture, and a citrus cordial flavor. This liquid lipstick is so pretty! I loved the packaging and the color is lovely too. A shimmering metallic pink that will look gorge with holiday and NYE looks. I'm not much of a metallic finish girl, but this looks so pretty especially topped with a clear gloss.

Tarteish Lash Paint Mascara ($23)
A jet-black, vegan mascara that has a molded brush that grabs and coats even the tiniest lashes for 2700% more volume. I hadn't tried this mascara so I was excited to find it in my box, and wow I don't know what took me so long! This mascara is awesome! It gives you volume, super long lashes, and doesn't flake or smudge. It's definitely in the running for holy grail status.

Beaute Basics Bronze Essentials ($39.95)
This palette is bronze glow gorgeousness! I am not familiar with this brand, but it looks and applies high end. With a small brush you can apply the colors individually, while a larger one melds the colors in to a beautiful copper shimmer bronzer.

Overall this months BoxyCharm was really a treat! I loved all the shine and sparkle in this box and that full size Tarteist Mascara is a straight up awesome mascara. As always the value in BoxyCharm is incredible!

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Holiday Collection Review & Swatches

Urban Decay is after this punk rock girls heart this season with their Heavy Metal Holiday Collection. Giving us all the glitter, the sparkle, and the crazy metallic effects, this is no ordinary holiday party makeup. From an all-metallic shadow palette and new shades of glitter liner to a lip palette loaded with metallized and matte shades, it's all here. Let's see what this holiday glam rock collection has to offer!

Urban Decay Heavy Metals Metallic Eyeshadow Palette ($55) is shadow mayhem in a crushed metal case. We packed this limited-edition palette with 20 of our most amped-up metallic shadows yet—and every single one is NEW and exclusive. Inject your look with a hit of glam rock for daytime or go full-on metal for a night out.

From standout jewel tones like Amp (a killer metallic teal) and Twisted (glimmering gold) to ultra-flattering neutrals like Demo (bronze-rose) and Afterparty (an amazing metallic red), this palette has everything you need to create endless metallic looks. And it’s all organized by color: brights on the left, neutrals on the right.

Urban Decay developed a whole new Eyeshadow formula for this palette. Bumping up the foiled effect to create their most metallic shadows ever. In doing so, they carefully crafted the formula on every shade to make sure each one would apply with a soft and creamy texture and create intense, shiny metallic effects. Every shade has a velvety feel for the perfect application, provides insane color payout and blends like a dream.

The killer lavender case has a crushed metal effect on one end…kind of like we smashed it while rocking out. It’s so gorgeous…like a modern art sculpture you’ll want to show off. Just imagine the gasps of, “WHAT’S THAT?!” when your friends see this baby. The palette slides open to dramatically reveal the shadow tray. When you’re ready to work your makeup magic, just pull the palette out and use Heavy Metals like a painter’s palette. Of course, we included a big mirror, so not only is this palette glamrock hot, it’s totally practical too.

Ground (black w/iridescent shimmer), Spandex (deep blue with purple shift and blue micro-sparkle), Metalhead (deep purple), Mullet (deep green), Twisted (gold), Aluminum (warm gray-taupe with iridescent micro-sparkle), Dive (medium blue), Punk Rock (fuchsia), Amp (bright teal), Glamrock (silver)

Bass (bronze), Demo (bronze-rose), Afterparty (red), Roadie (burgundy), Scream (mauve), Glory (golden bronze), Starfire (bright copper), Angelfire (pale pink), Maiden (beige), and Acoustic (nude)

I have been obsessed with the blinc metallic eyeshadow trio palette for months and these shadows are JUST like those. They go on creamy, intensely pigmented, and beam on the eyes. I absolutely love that they made this palette for both bright and neutral lovers. It really is like two separate palettes in one. Every shadow is gorgeous and bonus points for all new shades and no fallout. The only thing I disliked about this palette is the packaging. It is HEAVY and in the clunky way. The palette also slides out and doesn't lock correctly so it can easily come crashing out on to the floor.

Questionable packaging aside this palette is amazing. They nailed that cream to powder metallic formula. There are a few shades that are drier than others, mostly the glitter infused shades, but even those were still excellent. If you are unsure about an all metallic palette, pop one of these shades on your lids and you will see all their glory. When applied lightly they are just like a shimmer shadow and not too intense. My favorite way to apply these is with my finger and press them on to the lids. They really shine this way and pair beautifully with the matte's from the NAKED palettes.

VICE Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette ($35)
The makeup junkie’s go-to for overnighters, Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette features 12 addictive shades from our massive lipstick collection (six are new). The perfect lineup to take you from nighttime into the next morning, this limited-edition palette contains six metallized shades and six matte shades—from dark, sultry hues to failsafe neutrals to bold brights. The shades are all organized by finish and color family—metallized shades up top, with coordinating matte shades underneath.

Start with a metallized shade for a night out. When that night rolls into the next morning and you haven’t made it back home, channel your alter ego by switching to the corresponding matte shade for daytime. From new shades like Spark (bright red with tonal shimmer), Banger (deep oxblood), and Shallow (lavender) to cult-favorite shades like Big Bang (bright pink sparkle) and Backtalk (mauve-nude pink), this palette has all your needs covered. This is the Vice Lipstick formula you know and love, just poured into a palette. Our proprietary Pigment Infusion System™ gives each shade its super-creamy texture, rich payout and superior color dispersion. Yummy Butter Blend comforts, hydrates and enhances, leaving lips soft and conditioned, never dry.

I have said it a million times now that Urban Decay VICE Lipstick's are my favorite's and I rarely use anything else. I love these lip palette's because they allow for trying many different colors from the line with out having to purchase full sizes of all of them.

The six new mettalized shades are stunning with a mettalic shine that doesn't feel gritty. Banger is incredible looking on! I also really loved the two more wearable mauvey mettalics Amulet and Fast Talk. Spark is amazingly smooth and so dang in your face bright. The way they coordinated these to be basically the same shades just in mettalic and matte finishes is a really cool idea for a lip palette.

Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($20)
All the glitz of glam rock—without the spandex or bad hair—Urban Decay’s Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner contains superfine glitter in a clear base that dries down quickly and really stays put (for long wear without any fallout). Wear it alone, apply it over Urban Decay’s eyeshadow, or layer two shades together for a more intense effect.

There are six new shades in the Holiday Collection:
  • Pyro Iridescent and silver glitter
  • Gammy Ray Bright blue and silver glitter
  • Punk Rock Iridescent brown glitter
  • Grind Light pink iridescent glitter
  • Catcall Pink glitter
  •  Stix and Stones Iridescent maroon glitter
UD Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner is my OG Holy Grail of Glitter. It is everything you love about glitter minus everything you hate (the mess!). Heavy Metal Glitter Liners hold a special place in my makeup heart. I remember saving up my money to buy Midnight Cowboy when I first started doing makeup and it's still one of my all time beauty product favs. Even though I am past my glitter wearing days I will dabble with Heavy Metal's. The thin brush lets you swipe on just enough sparkle to look glam not gaudy and won't irritate sensitive eyes.

My favorite shades are of coure Midnight Cowboy, the prettiest pale gold. Glam Rock is a gorgeous true silver. From the new shades, Pyro is a sweet blend of baby pastels that would look so pretty over a creamy shimmer shadow and Stix and Stones looks awesome over black liquid liner. I would Skip Punk Rock, the glitter wasn't as sparkly in this one as the others.

Urban Decay Heavy Metal Collection hits all the right cords for me. If there is one must-have from the collection it's the Heavy Metals Mettalic Eyeshadow Palette. So stunning! You might want to pick up the VICE Palette and the six new Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner's too because this collection is limited-edition, it will surely be on everyones gift list! #HeavyMetalHoliday

Keep Your Lips Moisturized & Lipstick Ready with Herpecin

This post has been sponsored by the PRIMP Network. All opinions are my own.

If you have followed my blog for even a short period of time you will easily discover that lipstick is my favorite part of makeup. I can go with out eyeshadow or bronzer, but I never leave the house with out something painted on my lips. Winter can be a real pain in my lip color game. I often suffer from dry, chapped lips once the cold dry weather hits. Applying a nourishing lip balm like Herpecin L before my lip color becomes an essential step in how I keep my lips moisturized and RED-ready.

Herpecin s my go-to lip balm. This product is more than just your everyday lip treatment -it's the under-the-radar brand "jewel." It keeps my lips moisturized while also protecting them from cold sores. This balm is more hydrating than other lip treatments, making it excellent for use in the Winter. Plus, it's unscented which I really appreciate. It's amazing how hard it is is to find a lip balm with out some sort of scent to it! Sure, this lip balm isn't in rose gold packaging with some fancy name, but let me tell you it gets the job done and that's really all that matters.

Did you know 50-80% of the population suffer from cold sores? That is a huge number! According to the National Institutes of Health, about 90 percent of adults have been exposed to the virus by age 50. It is not an STD! There are two types of the virus. Most people get HSV-1 during infancy or childhood from a family member or friend. It can be transmitted by kissing or sharing eating utensils or towels and is highly contagious. Even knowing that so many people suffer from them they can still make you feel insecure and embarrassed. It is the adult equivalent of getting a huge zit right before Prom. Dry lips are a major contributor to ending up with a break out. Along with PMS, stress, sun-exposure, and illness.

There IS something you can do to help treat and relieve your cold sores. Herpecin L is a unique, pharmacist-recommended* product for the treatment, protection, and relief of cold sores, sun and fever blisters. Knowing that you can fight cold sores before they start provides peace of mind that there won't be any surprises. Talking about it also helps take away the stigma.

The added SPF30 protection is a bonus. It protects painful cracking of lips and promotes healing without numbing or drying. Not only is Herpecin great to use in the Summer months, but in the Winter too. If you partake in any cold weather sports like Skiing the high altitudes can expose you to both the sun and harsh elements. Sunburn of the lips is a real thing. Herpecin helps prevent that. It is uniquely formulated with dimethicone for protection, and sunscreens to help guard against the sun's harmful rays creating a barrier of protection.

Even if you don't suffer from cold sores or fever blisters pick Herpecin up for under your matte lipsticks. Some formula's can be too emollient, but Herpecin provides the right amount of moisture to keep lips smooth with out effecting the matte finish and it gets rid of that uber dry feeling.

Here is my three step Winter lip care routine for keeping my pout soft, smooth, and prepped for lip color!
Step 1
I first exfoliate my lips. You can buy lip scrubs or DIY it. FRESH Sugar Lip Scrub and Beauty For Real Lip Revival are two great ones. I also like to make my own with a little sugar, flavor of choice, and Coconut Oil. Rub the mixture on to your lips in circular motions then rinse off. Exfoliating will get rid of any dead skin and reveal smoother, softer lips.

 Step 2
Generously swipe on a layer of Herpecin lip balm. You can pick up this little "jewel" at Walmart for under $5 in the Lip Care aisle of your local Walmart or online at walmart.com
Make sure to re-apply throughout the day whenever your lips are feeling dry.

 Step 3
Apply a moisturizing lip color. Steer clear of the drying matte liquid lipsticks and opt for cream and moisturizing formulas. Applying a reflective gloss on top will provide further moisture and shine.

This simple and easy routine has kept my lips moisturized, smooth, and lipstick ready!

All of the extra benefits aside I just really love how this balm feels on my lips. It glides on for a  smooth velvety feel, relieves dry/chapped lips, and leaves my lips feeling super soft. Herpecin L is a must-have staple in my Winter beauty routine and year round.

Check out how my fellow beauty bloggers Pammy Loves Beauty and Casual Contrast are using Herpecin!
