BOXYCHARM June Downtown Charm

BOXYCHARM is back with some downtown charm for June. If you are not familiar for $21/mo Boxycharm sends you 4-5 full size beauty products valued at over $100. Lets see how Boxycharm charms us this month!

RealHer Eyeshadow Palette ($28)
I am a big fan of Real Her, both the message and their amazing lipsticks. I had no idea they were selling eyeshadow so getting this palette in Boxycharm was super exciting! The palette is small, with a magnetic closure. Inside are a range of neutral eyeshadows in richly pigmented hues designed for all skintones and eye colors.

Boxy hits it out of the park when it comes to the eyeshadow palettes they include in their boxes. I am still using those Studio Gear Palettes atleast once a week. This is no exception. It's a wonderful set of neutrals in a mix of matte and shimmers. The colors are gorge, they can take you from a day to night look in a snap. Also, the size is excellent for throwing in to your Summer travel bag.
3 Sheet Masks ($14.97)
Biobelle's sheet masks give your skin an instant boost, while deeply hydrating and evening your skintone, revealing gorgeous glowing skin. I have never tried Biobelle but these look so cute and the price is great too. So many of the sheet masks I have are uber expensive, I would love to find a cheaper alternative. There are three different masks for your skin concerns. One is even a primer for your skin before makeup, that sounds so cool!

Artist Couture Diamond Powder ($26.99)
This shimmering powder packs a high glow with a gorgeous sheen. The color Illuminate is a glowy champagne pearl. It's very pretty, but loose highlighters are so messy! I appriciate the plastic cap, I just don't like to fuss with loose powders. It's also on the glittery side. No bueno.

OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick ($19.90)
OFRA's liquid lipstick are one-step to full lip color that does not feather. These are some of my favorite liquid lip colors because they have excellent color payoff with out completely drying down to that awful dried out matte feel. Santa Ana is a lovely soft rosey shade. I already have this color in my collection and I wear it all the time, it is one everyone is sure to love.

Luxie Beauty Rose Gold Pro Precision Taper Brush ($24.00)
I was excited when they released the teaser that this brush would be included in this months box, but honestly it's nothing special. The taper just doesn't hold its shape and the bristles while soft are floppy and flat. They say this is for dusting away powder or "baking". But I don't waste a boatload of unnecessary powder on my face and I only bake pies. So for my needs it's a pretty expensive useless brush. The Luxie eyeshadow brushes were fantastic, not sure what happened here.

That wraps up June's Boxycharm. It was WAAAAAAY better than last months and pretty fantastic all around. I do hope they stop catering to what will show up in photoshopped instagram "makeup" and actually put out more quality seasonally tailored boxes again. I challenge them to put out a box that does not include any bronzer, highlighter, or a matte liquid lip. For $21 how can we even complain though right?

Urban Decay NAKED HEAT Collection Review & Swatches: Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette, VICE Lipstick, 24/7 Eyeliner

Burn Baby Burn because Urban Decay is bringing the heat with it's new NAKED HEAT Collection. It's time to get blazed and naked - with new NAKED HEAT. Urban Decay's sultriest neutral palette yet! Warm, Sexy, and insanely flattering, this sweltering palette features 12 all-new scorched neutrals. Complete the look with a limited-edition Vice Lipstick capsule collection AND new shades of 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - both inspired by Naked Heat. Lets take a look at how UD is turning up the heat!

Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette ($54)
Naked heats up - get LIT with 12 ALL-NEW, can't live with out amber hued neutrals - including warm browns, burnt oranges, and rich siennas. From a super-smooth red-brown matte and a glimmering copper to a deep , shifty bronze, this palette has everything you need to create sultry daytime looks, or intensely smoky nighttime looks and everything in between.

When I first saw the outside box, I thought ooh another pretty Naked Palette. Then I opened it up. No, not just another Naked palette...Naked Heat is GORGEOUS just from the casing. The multi-dimensional colors of the packaging and sleek hard case make it beautiful to look at and functional to store.

The colors inside are on fire and exactly what you expect from a palette called HEAT. They are warm, intense, and fiery. As usual Urban Decay gives us the perfect mix of matte and shimmer shades that are all fantastic in pigmentation and color payoff. At this point we all know NAKED palette's are amazing quality and Heat is right up there with the OG's. Also included is one of UD's fantastic double ended blending/detailed crease brushes.

*swatched with out primer
Shades Include:
Ounce (ivory shimmer)
Chaser (light nude matte)
Sauced (soft terra-cotta matte)
Low Blow (brown matte)
Lumbre (copper shimmer w/gold pearl shift)
He Devil (burnt red matte)
Dirty Talk (metallic burnt red)
Scorched (metallic deep red w/gold micro-shimmer)
Cayenne (deep terra-cotta matte)
En Fuego (burgundy matte)
Ashes (deep reddish-brown matte)
Ember (deep metallic copper-burgundy)

While this is an excellent warm eyeshadow palette, there is not a lot of contrast. Orange is the new Naked in here. Many of the shades are similar and run together when applied on the eyes. Creating a variety of different looks with just this one palette is possible, but you might find yourself wanting to reach for other eyeshadows to combine it with. I feel like a gold shade or two could have went a long way in here.

My favorite shades were the shimmers. Dirty Talk and Scorched went on beautifully smooth with an intense shine. There are also shades for creating warm matte neutral looks with. Sauced looks lovely in the crease and Cayenne ups the amp even more. I did have some trouble with matte shades En Fuego and Ashes, both applied on the patchy side. Ember has the most amazing metallic shine, definitely try that one over a black base I think it will make a really unique smokey eye.

I am all about the cool tone neutrals of NAKED 2, but to break myself out of a neutral erryday rut this is the palette to do it with. I really love that these are ALL new shades. We are not getting any repeats in here. Other than Ounce being the mandatory cream highlight, none of the other shades look similar to any past Naked palettes. Did you also notice NO GLITTER? Finally, UD didn't put unnecessary chunky glitter in the shimmer. Thank you! With my cool toned skin and hair this may not be the most flattering of the NAKED's for me personally, but I don't have many warm eyeshadows in my collection so I appreciate having the option. NAKED Heat is sure to be another cult favorite!

VICE Lipstick Heat Capsule Collection ($17)
If you haven't seen my previous VICE lipstick reviews, check them HERE and HERE. You know that I am in love the with the creamy, badass luxury that is VICE. I rarely wear any other lipstick any more. With over 100 shades, I think they've got us covered in the lipstick department!

The HEAT Collections features three limited-edition shades housed in rose gold ember casings.

Scorched (Mettalized), Heat (Mettalized), Fuel (Cream)

Scorched and Heat go heavy metal with their Mettalized finished. It's a bit difficult to capture in my swatches, but they both have tiny micro sparkles. Pair these two together for a shimmering sunset ombre lip. Fuel is a gorgeous creamy nude peach, the soft subdued shade balances out the warmth of the eyeshadows. All three of the shades pair perfectly with the NAKED Heat palette whether you're going for a lightly warm or smoldering look.

24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils Torch & Alkaline ($20)
24/7 Eyeliner goes on creamy with all day staying power. These are my favorite eyeliners in formula and color selection. Torch is a matte warm amber, it can be used as a base to really bring out the intensity of the Naked Heat eyeshadows. Alkaline takes the smoky eye to new levels in a deep smoldering burgundy. I thought this might be too red, but it leans towards purple. Both of these colors look especially amazing on blue and green eyes! The colors were meant to coordinate with the eyeshadow palette. UD really put some thought in to making this a cohesive collection.

Basically Urban Decay took all of its most amazing products and turned up the heat! This is a super hot collection that has Summer feeling (and Fall?) written all over it! #NakedHeat

Spring to Summer Style with Ashley Stewart

This post has been sponsored by the PRIMP Network. All opinions are my own.
The dose of Vitamin D we have been riding lately signals one thing - time to update my wardrobe with pretty new things for the Summer season. I seriously love all of the trends right now! The florals, brights, atheleisure, fruit prints I just can't get enough of it! So I am very excited to be partnering with PRIMP to share two looks that I have styled from Ashley Stewart.

Let me state that I am not a fashion blogger. This was REALLY stepping out of my comfort zone. I figured hey, most of us aren't fashion bloggers. We don't own professional cameras or frequent exotic locations, we just want to wear cute clothes in our everyday lives. So why not!

Being "in-between" in sizing I often look to plus size brands over the straight sizes because I find they understand curvy bodies better and not to mention can accommodate busty babes. Ashley Stewart is a Plus-size fashion brand for the fun and confident Diva. Offering a wide assortment of fashion items in sizes 12-32 and testing to include sizes 34 & 36. Now that's some size inclusive body positivity!

Ashley Stewart's website is my preferred way to shop because it's on-trend with the latest and hottest fashion styles. New fashion items are added every day including online exclusives. If you prefer a more hands on shopping experience head in to one of their 89 retail stores across the United States.

Living in the Pacific Northwest our fashion choices often revolve around what our temperamental weather is doing at the present moment. This can mean experiencing three different seasons in one day. It can be a rainy 60 degrees one day and soar to a blazing hot 85 the next. Layering is key. I can see why there are very few fashion bloggers here. The weather! When I had planned to do this it was blindingly bright one day and drizzly humid the next, hello frizzy hair!

Bomber Jackets are still going full force in my closet. I am pretty certain that I have close to 10 now! This Varsity Style Mesh Bomber Jacket features an open mesh knit to keep you cool while being warm enough for Summer nights. You might not think a jacket with a bunch of holes in it could possibly keep you warm, but it actually does! With a tight knit this feels like wearing a lightweight airy jacket. The sheerness of the mesh gives a little hint of skin peeking through without feeling overexposed.

Atheleisurewear is a huge trend right now and this jacket is the definition of it. The striped details are totally sport luxe. You can wear this jacket casually with jeans, over a t-shirt dress, or pair it with a sports bra and leggings for a mega cute gym look. The striped cuffs at the wrists feel exactly like those oldschool athletic wristbands, love it!

Roses are my favorite flower so when I saw this tank I knew it would become mine. Pink and beetroot purple roses bloom brightly in this watercolor Floral Tank letting you carry the floral trend of Spring in to Summer. Best of all the print did not become stretched out or see-through over my chest. That's a sure sign of quality and this tank is super comfy too!

While I have hopped on the trend bandwagon this season, I also looked to Ashley Stewart for fashions that fit my personal style year round. My style is a mix of feminine meets rock & roll. If Courtney Love was a style, that's my goal. Celebrity Skin but forever disheveled.

Adding the rock & roll element to this outfit are these edgy glam Mirrored Lace Up Heels.

Having wide feet I struggle with finding heels that fit me. Ashley Stewart carries all wide width shoes. Hallelujah. The lace up style of these are wonderful for those with wide calves too.

The straps are extra long with rubber thread running throughout to keep them from slipping down.

These heels are super versatile in that they can also be worn tied around the ankles. How awesome is that silver mirrored effect on the heel?

Moto details adorn the hips and knees with zips at the ankles on these Moto Zip Ankle Jeans. Available in colors - medium blue and dark blue. If you are a shorty like me you will love these! They hit spot on at the ankle.

Can we take a moment to admire these pretty in HOT pink wedges? They are like WOW.

The Lexa Cut Out hot pink wedges are a statement making shoe. Slits and cut outs in all the right places make these wide width wedges a knockout. With a 3.5 inch wedge heel you can walk all day in them. Or run! I had to shoot with my self timer on my phone and was running back and forth. Never tripped once!

I have a major affinity for pineapples. If it has a pineapple on it I want it.
#PINEAPPLEOBSESSED

Bringing Island vibes in to my everyday style I am wearing the Tropics Tankini as a top tucked in to the Georgette Black Maxi Skort. Throw a t-shirt on over it and you're ready to go from pool side to Farmers Market.

The moment I saw this Sequin Pineapple Jean Jacket I knew it was going in to my cart. You can't go wrong with a classic denim jacket and the details on this say Hello Summer.

I mean what's more tropical and fun in the sun than wearing a giant sequin pineapple?
Light deconstruction is done ever so thoughtfully on this denim jacket. Little slit cut outs even peek through on the elbows, such a sweet little touch!
It is not all party in the back though, a trendy little cactus patch on the shoulder says "Maybe Never". Which is how we often feel about when Summer will arrive in Seattle.

I am obsessed with this skirt/skort combination of the Georgette Sheer Maxi! A sheer black overlay flows over the attached shorts underneath. There are so many outfit possibilities with this piece. Dress it up with an off the shoulder crop top or wear it as a cover up at the pool. Length wise it was a tad too long for me at 5'4, but with high enough heels it's a keeper.

How awesome are these sunglasses? They turn different colors depending on how the light hits them.

Handbag of Summer '17 right here. The gold pineapple accents on the Dome White Shoulder Bag do a fruit print in a refined way. The pineapples are actually individual laser cut outs brought forth over a metallic background. Details!
Even if you are not plus size don't sleep on Ashley Stewart for accessories.
Sunglasses game is on point!
With the 40% Off PRIMP40 Discount code each pair I picked up were under $10!
I had such a wonderful time shopping for the season with Ashley Stewart! I was rather nervous as this was my first fashion post and shooting from my phone wasn't ideal, but it was a lot of fun! My journey to body acceptance is a continuous one, but wearing the bold, vibrant, and fun fashions from Ashley Stewart really helped me to feel confident and comfortable in the size I'm currently in.
