**GIVEAWAY CLOSED! THANKS FOR ENTERING! See you in the New Year!********
This was one of my favorite looks to have came up with, not because it's particularly difficult or complex, but because there was no inspiration or direction behind it other than I wanted something to match my dress for the evening. Complete overkill right? But out came one of those sporadic organic creative moments when you bang out something completely of your own and I just love when that happens.
Two tutorials in a week, who the heck am I! Apparently you guys still want to see videos from me who knew! I thought it might be sooo 5 years a go by now, but hopefully my interest in creating there again will continue :) I wanted to share an alternative to the usual NYE Party glitter eyes (WATCH), though if you like glittering lids as I do too, my Nancy Spungen Tutorial would fit that bill. Glitter, Sequins, Silver, or Gold, as long as it sparkles it belongs on your face...if only for one celebratory night :)
This is very versatile and can be tailored to any color of your choice. Gold, bronze, blue, black or a combination of would look stunning, as well as changing the lip color to what you like best. Sequins can be found at most craft or art supply stores..or your own closet. Attach them with DUO Lash Adhesive, and they'll last through the ball drop...the lipstick however...can't make any promises on that ;)
If Sequins are a little out there or unavailable to you, just follow the eye tutorial and then add some pretty rhinestone lashes instead! Both Red Cherry and Ardell make them (get them here).
My Original Photo's of the first time I did this look can be found HERE.
There would have been better makeup pictures of this except take the above...don't you just hate when you do your makeup, snap some pictures, later take the makeup off. Only then to see you had a wonky eyelash, jacked up eyeliner, or in this case a renegade sequin trying to escape from my face? Just figures! That's what I get for trying to do glamorous when I'm not :)
Tutorial Product Listing after the cut! Happy New Year!
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Hpnotiq. All opinions are 100% mine.
HpnotiqPrimp & Prep is all about getting ready before hitting the town in style! "Who's wearing what?" "Can I borrow some makeup?" "Those earrings look fab!" "Oh, turn this song up, it's my jam!" This is the calm before you and your girls take the night by storm. Primp & Prep! is an exclusive online site on hpnotiq.com, one stop shop, where girls can go to get all of their beauty, fashion, style tips, gossip, music etc. before they hit the town for their girl's night out.
I don't know about you guys but I always like to see what other people have on their XMAS Lists. If only for the purpose of being completely nosy :) Mine actually has a few beauty items on it this year which is unusual. I'm not much of a makeup person! I love makeup artistry, but I don't have a lot of interest in the consumerism side of it. Then there's a couple of dream items that I think Santa would need to moonlight as a sugar daddy in order for me to get, but hey a girl can make a list right :)
I noticed my Nancy Spungen inspired makeup look had been garnering the most attention from my blog traffic over the year, interesting considering her unfavorable bad girl reputation and not being present day popular. So as my XMAS gift to my wonderful blog readers I recreated it for you guys in youtube makeup tutorial form (watch above or HERE). I hope it gives a little glance in to how it's done and that's almost as good as presents? :) This could very well double as Holiday makeup with the glittery golds and red lips that are so popular during the season. You're sure to look perpetually trashed at your next Xmas party!
I wanted a more authentic Nancy than my original version. Heavier eyes with a vivacious cherry glossed lip. It's a freakin boatload of makeup, even for me! But it can be toned down by using a lighter hand with the black and combining it with a softer lip. I'd love it if you'd rock the hell out of this look for yourself! Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's to all of you makeup darling's xoxoxox
If you're not familiar with Nance here's some background info and photo's for reference:
Nancy Spungen never wrote a song or played in a band in her life yet she has assumed a position in rock mythology that has made the the image of her tumbling peroxide hair and kohled eyes as immortal as Sid's and forever joined as punks most famous couple.
Mixed up kid, music lover, exotic dancer, groupie, starf***er, drug addict and lastly girlfriend of Sid Vicious (Sex Pistols) dead in the Chelsea Hotel New York. One view sees a manipulative siren - 'nauseous Nancy' - leading Sid Vicious to his death through drugs.
Another view sees a young disturbed 19 year old girl just following a dream in music, falling in love with another damage case and becoming a tragic doomed couple at odds with the world ending in premature violent death. A death and a life forgotten in the media frenzy as her partner and alleged killer, Sid, died soon after.
Nancy Spungen on her own was always destined to be a girl in the back of someone else's photograph. Sid Vicious and death gave her infamy. Who was the real Nancy? As usual the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

I'd been thinking of 'ombre eyeliner' as a way to sneak
in color with out it being so in your face. I drew on a thin line of Blackheart Teal Death Glitter Liner fading in to black to match my tealed hair. Potential Holiday eye? It's got the greens and glitttah but doesn't scream hi! i'm wearing Christmas on my face. On the lips: OCC Lip Tar in Queen
. This color I'm not feelin, it's like Grandma lipstick on acid.
