Urban Decay Double Team Special Effect Colored Mascara Review & Swatches

Just in time for Festival Season! Urban Decay is livening up our eyes with Double Team Special Effect Colored Mascara. A totally different take on colored mascara, Double Team Special Effect Colored Mascara provides a HUGE pop of color on lashes and brows. The cream shades deliver intense color payout, and the metallic shades provide a hit of multidimensional sparkle. If you are COACHELLA weekend two bound you will want to toss one or all of these in your travel bag!

Like the name suggests, Double Team packs two shades in every tube, and comes in five must-have duos. (Trust us, you’ll want them all.) Four of the duos feature a bold cream shade on one side and a matching metallic topcoat on the other. The other (Dime/Goldmine) has two metallic topcoats in one tube (silver and gold).

We’re taking the colored mascara trend to the next level with super-vivid colors and metallic finishes. With Double Team, you can make the look as subtle or as dramatic as you want. Wear one shade of Double Team (sans shadow or to complete any eye look), or mix and match multiple shades. Our thick, curved fiber brush separates and coats even tiny corner lashes.

Gone are those colored mascara's that do absolutely NOTHING. With Double Team the color on the outside of the tube is the color that you get on your lashes. The brush coats each lash perfectly and with two coats I had full color impact on my lashes. For the most intense color result, start with the cream color side and then layer the metallic shade for the second coat.

This mascara is seriously budge proof and smudge proof. It's a lot like the formula of the TroubleMaker Mascara. Acting like a waterproof with out the damage. It took some serious makeup remover just to remove the swatches, it is not going anywhere!

Take color to the next level with UD's go-to liner pairings of 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils  in complementary and contrasting shades. The combinations really make the color of both your liner and lashes pop!

• Double Team in Gonzo + 24/7 Eye Pencil in Smog
• Double Team in Deep End + 24/7 Eye Pencil in LSD
• Double Team in Junkshow + 24/7 Eye Pencil in Deep End
• Double Team in Dime/Goldmine + 24/7 Eye Pencil in Perversion
• Double Team in Vice + 24/7 Eye Pencil in Vice

Take color to the next level with UD's go-to liner pairings of 24/7  in complementary and contrasting shades. They really make the color of both your liner and lashes pop!

Dime/Goldmine (the silver and gold topcoats) were really freaking cool! You can use alone for a flash of multidimensional sparkle, layer them over your regular mascara, or try them over one of the other colored mascaras for a more dramatic effect. I like putting them just on the tips of the lashes.

I love colored mascara because they are such a versatile way to use color. Go heavy and it's super 80's/raver/festival vibes or do a touch of color just to bring out your eye color. You can also use these in your brows! Are colored mascaras anything new? No, but they are perfect for Festival season when you want a bold fun look and don't want to sweat off your eye makeup. My pick is Deep End, the metallic sparkling teal is crazy flashy! Pair these with one of the new Hi-Fi Shine Cushion Lipglosses and spritz yor face with some All Nighter and you are living your best festival life!

Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss Review & Swatches

Urban Decay has been getting quite a bit of play on my blog lately but that's because they are doing Spring like no other. To think I thought that mediocre Kristen Whoevertheheck release was going to be their Spring Collection -they sure showed us! By now we are itching to say goodbye to dry matte lip colors and hello to soft, sparkling, glossy lips. Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss is ultra-shiny, glides on cushiony-soft and provides long-lasting wear that’s comfortable, not tacky. It's sure to be your new holy grail lipgloss!

The sleek, modern component is clear, so you can easily pick your shade out of a handbag. The iridescent, metallized frame makes the gloss look like it’s floating inside. Added bonus: Because the tube is flat, it fits perfectly in your pocket.

The flexible, flocked-silicone paddle applicator is the newest technology and allows you to swipe on a generous, even layer of gloss. No need to double dip (but please do if you want!). A well made lipgloss wand is a must for me. I can't stand a stiff ill shapen wand. This wand has a very cushiony feel with a bendy doe foot tip that makes applying the gloss smooth and precise.

Laced with vitamin E and peppermint oil, the hydrating formula leaves lips feeling nourished, has an immediate plumping effect and comes in a yummy vanilla-mint flavor. If you like flavored glosses that is. Which I don't! That was the only downside to the Hi-Fine Ultra Cushion Lipgloss for me. The vanilla-mint flavor is cloyingly artificially sweet and doesn't subside quickly. So while you're enjoying chicken caesar salad for lunch...you're still tasting vanilla-mint on your lips. It's not a terrible taste, rather pleasant actually, it reminds me of Christmas. I just really wish they hadn't been scented. I know a lot of people won't mind that at all though.

So these glosses are pretty jammin in formula. They are comfortable, don't feel tacky or sticky, and look like ultra-shiny liquid plastic on the lips. My only qualm is the scent/taste of course, but it's really not that big of a deal. The feel of the lipgloss is comfortably smooth and moisturizing on the lips with a slight plumping effect, but no tingle. I would compare the formula of these to Fenty Universal Gloss Bomb, which I LOVE. Wear time is as you would expect with a gloss, a few or so hours before needing a touch up.

There is a shade for every skin tone in this expansive color range and some super unique finishes. From holographic shades like SPL and Snapped to your everyday gloss shades of Obsessed and Naked. Don't be afraid of the bolder colors because they apply much more sheer than what the tube displays. This may be a make or break if you prefer super pigmented glosses. Myself, I always layer gloss over a lip color so I appreciate a gloss that airs on the sheer side. Whatever gloss frequency you’re on, they’ve got you covered. Tune in to everything from blaring brights to soft neutrals in four different effects—metallic, holographic, cream and sheer cream.

All of the Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cusion Lipglosses pair beautifully with the VICE Lipstick shades. I noticed quite a few are coordinating colors to their lipstick counterparts. For instance, Naked looks lovely over Naked Vice Lipstick. Giving the soft creamy nude lip color a shimmering shine with out effecting the overall color. We also have Obsessed, Bang, 1993, and Backtalk in the hi-fi lineup.

My top choices for everyday wear glosses are the cream finishes. They are the most pigmented while still being sheer and can easily be worn alone. Snitch, a bright coral cream, will be my go-to gloss for Spring. It looks great worn on its own as do the other cream's Jawbreaker, Beso, Backtalk, Savage, & Bang.

The holographic shades are where you can really amp up your lipcolors in to something out of this world. I loved these the most! SPL is a most delightful holographic candy pink gloss with irridescent sparkle. This is stunning over a sweet candy pink lipstick like Obsessed. Try Big Bang over the VICE Lip Color and you will be transformed in to 80's JEM, so much hot pink sparklyness!

Candy Flip is the most exciting shade of the bunch to me. Yeah, I see you old skool ravers over at UD. The holographic lavender with blue-pink sparkle looks crazy cool by itself, but pop this on over a purple or hot pink lip and it's next level. This shade is made to be paired with those new Holographic Highlighters!

Hi-shine lipgloss is everywhere this season and Urban Decay has nailed it by delivering ultra-shiny color that makes the lips look dazzling and full of shine. Definitely grab a few of these to wear on their own or pop over your VICE lipsticks! Bonus - they're permanent and not just limited-edition.
