Eddie Funkhouser has quickly become one of my favorite emerging new makeup lines. With its refined, minimalist packaging and world-class studio created formula's the line has the look and feel of prestige cosmetics delivered at an unprecedented value. Along with the beautiful makeup (see my previous review of the Belle De Jour Collection), Eddie Funkhouser has released a line of fourteen handcrafted Professional Makeup Brushes.

I received three PRO face brushes along with a primer, foundation, and concealer to road test these chic new brushes with.

* Hand-Scored Hair
* Precision sculpted, dip-dyed brush heads
* Sustainable aluminum ferrules
* Premium hardwood, lacquered handles
Airbrush FX Brush ($20.49)
A medium sized flat-domed brush ideal for application of liquids, cremes, and powders. Use as a stippling brush to evenly apply primer and foundation, to contour, and highlight, and as a finishing brush to blend the entire look.

This is a lot lot the duo fibre brush you'd expect it to be by looking at it. Soft and dense so it won't collapse when blending and the bristles do not shed. Foundation blends out seamlessly and it can also be used to finish the face as a powder brush. All of the quality's you find in a great multipurpose face brush.
Pointed Foundation Brush ($16.99)

The round cone-shaped chiseled tip creates even, streak-free finishes. Ideal for application of liquid and creme foundation as well as for the application of cream cheek color.

This is a medium sized domed tip brush and I liked the pointed tip and softness, but there was something about it that was just too stiff and rigid for me when applying and blending foundation. Myself I like it better as a sculpting brush for contouring and highlighting with cream products.
Pro Concealer Brush ($12.99)
The slightly pointed domed tip is firm yet flexible for an exacting application.

Excellent concealer brush. You can place product perfectly with the thin pointed tip edge and its gentle enough to blend with too. Great for applying cream shadows too.

Luxlight Hydrating Primer ($14.99)
A luminizing primer that leaves skin with dewy radiance. Light-diffusing properties work to even out skin tone and Vitamins A, C, and E, and Jojoba Oil help to smooth, brighten, and condition skin all day long.

One of my favorite primers was from the long gone Rock & Republic makeup line, this is the closest product I've found to replace R&R. Luxlight is softly tinted to even out skin tone, it's not as peachy as the swatch, that's bloggers new warming filter they put one everything. In actuality its so lightly tinted that even pale skintones can wear it. This primer fills in pores, evens out skintone, and gives you a dewy glow. Part of that glow is achieved by minimal light reflecting shimmer particles. I would steer clear of the pores, but to brighten the highlights of the face its gorgeous.

Luxlight Revitalizing Foundation ($14.99)
This ultralight, creamy, and buildable formula enhances skin’s natural radiance for a flawless, light-diffused finish throughout the day.

I didn't even get a nice brand new product picture of this because I was so eager to try this foundation! I was not let down, this has become my favorite every day foundation. Right when I pumped out "Fair" I knew it had potential. The color is that perfect pale ivory with subtle pink but not too pink. It's probably the best color match I've ever found in a foundation with no oxidation throughout wear. Shade Fair is a match for MAC NW15's. With 6 shades available in all.

The formula is lightweight and glides on to give a soft focus finish. It doesn't settle in to pores and still lets your natural skin peek through. I like a natural looking foundation, not stuff that feels and looks like a heavy mask. Along with the soft finish there's no heavy feeling, its nearly naked skin in every way. I wear this for 8 hours daily and it still looks fresh by night, it's incredibly long lasting. The luminous finish adds a radiant boost that we tend to need over the cooler month. I can't even express how much I LOVE this foundation! If you like light-weight and light to medium coverage foundations with a satin finish this performs just as nice as a high end foundation. Haven't had any skin issues from it and the pump style bottle is very hygienic.

16 Hour 4 Way Liquid Concealer ($10.99)
 A dynamic multi-tasker 4 way formula available in 4 shades designed to neutralize redness, correct dark circles, brighten and conceal, and soften the appearance of fine lines.

After trying a gazillion concealers only about 3 make the cut for me (NARS Radiant, MUFE, and MAC prolongwear). Add a fourth one, because this concealer belongs in the top. Superb coverage with a radiance to it that really brightens up the under eyes with out settling in to fine lines. The formula is so light that even if you build it up it doesn't get cakey or emphasize lines. Shade "Light" is just light enough for fair skin with a hint of peachy undertone to cancel out and brighten up darkness. The formula is budge-proof and long wearing. I can't get over the price of this at only $10, like the foundation it performs so high end.

Did not expect to find TWO face products let alone a concealer AND foundation that I would love so much. The brushes are also high quality for the price, very curious to try out the Eye Brushes now and like every other product. Continuously impressed by the Eddie Funkhouser line :)

Stay tuned next month! I'll be doing a Christmas Giveaway with Eddie!
