LOTD & Review: OCC Heroine Collection Black Dahlia Lip Tar

No Chelsea Smile, but my reds are getting deeper and darker as Fall progresses. Black Dahlia Lip Tar is the newest release from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic's F/W 2012 Heroine collection. Inspired by horror movie heroines this collection pays homage to the seductive nature of danger and those who dare to face it with confidence.
Black Dahlia Lip Tar ($16) isn't nearly as intimidating as it looks in the tube. It applies a semi-opaque blackest blackened red that's as pretty as its namesake. This one isn't as full coverage as other lip tars. I wasn't sold on the finish at first, but the sheer blackened veil gives it a unique stained appearance that's different from your run of the mill aubergine. While my application is heavy, when subtly applied it's a delicious raspberry shade. Black Dahlia is a lovely addition to the dark side of the lipstick realm and dead on for Fall. My previous review of OCC Lip Tar's can be found here.
