Too Faced Haute Chocolate Spring 2014 Collection Review

It seems a bit crazy to be talking Spring before Winter, but I am having a downright love affair with Too Faced lately. They are having a moment with all of these amazing new product releases and you won't want to wait to check this one out. If you liked (or missed out on!) the My Favorite Things Set I think you'll be very happy with  The Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette that lands at SEPHORA today December 19th. I'm even favoring this one over Naked3...the infused cocoa powder might be swaying me just a little bit though :)

The Spring 2014 Haute Chocolate Collection (c/o) features the Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette, Candy Bar Pop-Out Makeup Palette & iPhone Case, Perfect Flush Blush in Something About Berry & Peach Beach, Attitude Brow Lift Brow Bone Highlighting Pencil, Bulletproof Brows in Universal Taupe & Brunette, and La Creme Drenched Lip Creme in Pink Chocolate, Lolipop, Jelly Bean, Taffy, and Bon Bon.

Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Collection ($49)
A sweetly tempting array of 16 matte and shimmer shadows scented with real chocolate. Not only does the palette look tempting from the outside, you open it up and it smells like chocolate too! It's that same hot chocolatey scent that the Chocolate Soleil Bronzers have. It's not overpowering..when you get a hint of it it just makes you happy :)
Too Faced Co-founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino learned of the healing properties of cocoa while getting a chocolate facial in Maui. With Chocolate Bar he created a first-of-its-kind palette that combines the healing benefits of chocolate with richly pigmented, velvety smooth shadows.
I am a chocolate lover so I was hooked on the packaging alone then having actual cocoa infused in to the eyeshadow's? how cool is that? Studies have shown that the scent of cocoa powder can increase memory and brain power. Your brain will be telling you that you NEED this palette.

The Chocolate Bar has all new shades and they compare a lot to the performance and prettyness that was in My Favorite Things palette. The matte's are velvety smooth and the shimmers pigmented with stunning shine. It's a fairly even mix of textures. The shades are made up of natural brown's, plums, and delicate pinks. It leans warm but there's enough cool tones in here to satisfy both sides. What I liked most is that gone are those chunky glitters that I complained of before. It seems like they reformulated the shadows to apply with less fall out too. They wear great! Even with out a base I didn't experience any creasing or fading.

*swatches are with out a base
Gilded Ganache,  White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Black Forrest Truffle, Triple Fudge
Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi-Sweet, Strawberry Bon Bon, Candied Violet, Amaretto
Hazelnut, Crème Brulee, Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Champagne Truffle

I thought Naked 3 was the palette to get, but THIS is the neutrals palette of the new year. Every single eyeshadow in here is amazing and the color palette is so flattering. It looks and smells like chocolate..what's not to love?
Candy Bar Pop-Out Makeup Palette & Phone Case ($25)
The Candy Bar Palette is like the fun size to the Chocolate Bar. This mini palette has 11 eyeshadows, bronzer, blush, and a case for the iphone5. The tiny palette is perfect for keeping in your purse or travel. I just love this one for giving as gifts, it's not expensive and how darling is the iphone case with it?

Don't let the tiny size of this fool you. You can create multiple soft neutral looks, go smokey with it, AND do your blush & bronzer. My swatches do not do this justice, that midnight blue makes a stunning smokey eye, it turns out the most sultry charcoal with a blue sheen. All of the shadows were excellent except for 6th. olive gold color which lacked pigmentation.
The bottom of the Candy Bar has two larger eyeshadow shades in a pink and yellow based cream , a matte Bronzer and a pop of coral pink blush.
Perfect Flush Blush Something About Berry & Peach Beach ($29)
A shimmery trio of baked blush in a heart shaped box. I don't even like shimmery blushes but the packaging of these had me. While completely unrelated I'm a huge Nirvana fan so the "heart shaped box" makes me want to keep them out on display even if I didn't wear them.

You can swirl the trio together or use them individually. Peach Beach gives a rose gold flush that could also be used as a highlighter. Something About Berry imparts a deep fuchsia that works great on deeper skin tones. This shade was my favorite, it's such a bright beautiful raspberry pink. Blush generally doesn't excite me in say the way lipstick does, but I kept admiring my glowy pink cheeks in the mirror with this hehe it's just so darn pretty.
Instant Attitude Brow Lift Brow Bone Highlighting Pencil ($20)
A matte vanilla cream jumbo pencil that is perfect for..well just about everything! Apply the brow bone for an instant lift to the eyes. I use these pencils all the time on the brow or waterline, they are magic for making your eyes look brighter and awake.
I have quite a few light colored pencils, Instant Attitude is unlike any of them. Instead of a heavy waxy pencil or one that's like a concealer this is softly pigmented and blends so easily, almost like a powder. It's definitely made with the sole purpose of highlighting in mind and not just another white eyeliner passing itself off as a highlighter. The creamy vanilla shade is much softer than white. You can use this in an inverted triangle to brighten hollows, inner corners, on the cupids bow to enhance the lip shape & fullness.
Bulletproof Brows Universal Taupe ($30)
This groundbreaking brow definer is a powder, gel, pencil, and setting wax all in one cashmere clay formula. It applies creamy, sets dry, and doesn’t move until you decide to remove it.

Bulletproof Brows is available in two shades Universal Taupe and Universal Brunette. Universal Taupe is a light brown with a slight warm undertone, a great match for my brows. I enjoyed this a lot, it's like a brow powder and pencil in one. The very light gel consistency means the color isn't too pigmented so you get the soft natural look of a powder. The results are naturally defined brows not ones that look overdone or heavily filled in. The waterproof formula locks down to eliminate any smudges or fading throughout the day. Really excellent and innovative brow product.
La Creme Drenched Lip Creme ($21)
The La Creme Lipstick's were on my Sephora Wishlist this year. I had never tried them as Too Faced lip products and I haven't been friends in the past, the lip injection glosses still make me cry. These are nothing like those I can happily say. Just creamy hydrating beautiful lipstick's and now I WANT THEM ALL.

For this season they unveiled 5 new sweet candy inspired colors, one for each color family:  Berry, Red, Nude, Pink, and Spice.
Jelly Bean is the only one I'm missing, but I will definitely be buying it! La Creme's feel  light and moisturizing on. They have a smooth buttery texture with a whisper of lemon sugar scent. The color is quite pigmented for being a creamy formula like this. I loved Taffy, which was a surprise as I don't like light lipstick's, it's a soft pink that makes for a less dead looking nude lip. Pink Chocolate reminds me of those ultra-cool 90's brown based berries. Bon Bon is your Spring staple a vivid warm coral. The violet toned Lollipop was the most daring, it has a beautiful orchid flash finish to it. La Creme's are an especially nice choice for Winter wear, you get full color and hydration all in one.

Every single piece in the Haute Chocolate Collection is a hot one :) It's a Spring Collection that's out before Winter, yet wouldn't it be absolutely perfect for Valentines Day? <3 it.
