I was very eager to get started with Tria's new Eye Wrinkle Correcting Laser after my success using their Laser Hair Removal Device. I kind of love being a guinea pig for the latest beauty treatments. No matter what our age our eyes are some of the first areas to show signs of aging. I have always had some fine lines under my eyes which didn't bother me, but they can become an annoyance when makeup settles in to them. Also annoying is eye creams that don't live up to their lofty claims. While I have many that hyrate and reduce puffiness, my fine lines and wrinkles have been left untouched. I was hoping this laser would take on what the creams alone have failed to deliver.

Start each session by cleansing your skin and making sure your device is clean after each use as well. I cleansed with my normal cleaser and did my treatment before I applied any of my other night time skincare products.

The biggest challenge was remembering to use it each night. But, it only takes a couple mins, so placing it on my vanity provided me the nightly reminder to use it. I did my treatments at night before bedtime. This allows renewal to take places over night and for any possible side effects to diminish.

Using the laser is surprisingly uncomplicated. All it takes is one hit of the power button and gliding over the eye area in circular motions for 1 minute each. I experienced no pain or discomfort when treating only a slight pinch or prick of skin and some redness for a few minutes after. The after effect is similar to what you would experience with a mild sunburn. At about the 4 week mark I did have some dryness and shedding of skin which is normal.

Here is my before pic at Week 1 before beginning treatments. I was focusing on the mid to outter lower eye area or "crows feet". The under eye creases close to the lashline can not be treated with the laser.

After 5 Weeks of treatments. It's difficult to capture in pictures but I definitely notice a difference in the smoothness under my eyes. Most noticeable is how my under eye concealer wears. Product no longer settles in the creases as much. At 4 weeks my under eyes were dry and had some redness near the top of the cheekbone. This is when I believe the cell renewal process really started to take place.

Tria reccomends treating daily for 8 weeks to see the best results. After using it daily for 8 weeks I am seeing and feeling a difference. My under eyes will always have darkness because I am a night owl, but my fine lines feel smoother and my makeup doesn't settle in to them as much. After your 8 week treatment make sure to rest your skin for 4 weeks before starting any additional treatments.

I really like the convenience of being able to do my treatments for a couple minutes at home each night and not having to schedule an office visit.
