LORAC Love, Lust, & Lace Eyeshadow Palettes + Lipstick Set Review

Lure in your latest love interest this season with LORAC’s Love, Lust & Lace limited edition 2015 Holiday Collection. Of all the holiday releases LORAC really outdid themselves this year. They had so many amazing makeup releases up for grabs at multiple retailers. On Black Friday I bought the Ulta $12 LORAC Love, Lust, & Lace eyeshadow palettes in a matte or shimmer. Last I checked the Matte palette was still up for purchase. These limited edition palettes contain 5 exclusive shades that are perfect for everyday, and sultry looks. I also picked up Love, Lust, Lace Alter Ego Lipstick Collection at Kohls, a steal at $39 for six stunning high end lip colors. One part I loved, one not so much!

I am pretty much committed daily to the LORAC PRO palettes. The eye shadows have the most amazing velvety texture, even the mattes have a creamy non-powdery feel. The shimmers are glowing with out being doused in sparkle. I never have a problem with creasing or fading and they always look freshly applied all dang day long. I was hoping that same formula would be present in these cute little Holiday palette's....yeah, not so much!

Love, Lust, & Lace Matte Palette

The shadows in the Matte palette were underwhelming to say the least. Unlike the velvety smooth texture the LORAC PRO palette mattes these were chalky and applied patchy. This is a good set of basic neutrals color wise, but the formula is just not up to par. I probably would have skipped this one because most of the shades are easily found elsewhere. The packaging is nicely done and I like the smaller size for travel, otherwise it's a $12 palette not a $50 quality one.

Love, Lust, & Lace Shimmer Palette

Sophisticated shimmer comes alive in the Love, Lust, Lace Shimmer palette. The Shimmer was definitely the better of the two. The eyeshadows applied slightly more pigmented and blended out beautifully. The colors were also just a little more special and make a cohesive look when paired all together.

Love, Lust, & Lace was a bit hit or miss for me. Do I think they're worth the $12? Yes, but definitely not even close to being a $50 palette. I also picked up the Riesling Romance Palette which was even more underwhelming. Sheer and practically invisible on the eyes. It was nice to see some cool toned offerings during the Holidays and the size is great for travel or popping in to the makeup bag, but I can't say these palette's were worth busting down the doors at ULTA at 6am for. Splurge for the PRO palettes instead. Those are the real deal.

Now the Love, Lust, and Lace Alter Ego Lipstick Collection was a whole different story. I have long wanted to try the LORAC Alter Ego Lipsticks and this was the perfect opportunity. This set  is available at Kohls for only $39. Six high end lipstick's at that price? That's an awesome deal! Alter Ego Lipstick's normally retail for $16 each.

With 4 limited editions and 2 best selling highly pigmented matte lipsticks, this Love, Lust and Lace Alter Ego collection contains the perfect range of colors to create any look you crave.

Socialite (Nude), Tease (Carnation), Flirt (Deep Rose), Lolita (Deep Berry), Siren (Crimson), and Dominatrix (Deep Burgundy)

These creamy matte lipsticks are pigmented, go on smooth, have a soft vanilla scent, and stay put for hours. Perfection. All of the shades (minus Socialite) were flattering on my pale cool toned skin. It covers all the must have lipstick shades from nude to dark. This set would make a wonderful gift for any lipstick lover or someone who is growing their lip color collection. Loved this collection!
