Subscription Box Reviews: Boxycharm, SocialBliss, & Scentbird

After doing 90% of my Holiday gift shopping online I didn't want to overload my UPS man with any more packages. This month I have two of my favorite boxes and one new subscription. Boxycharm's  November & December boxes were full of dazzling beauty gifts. The Socialbliss Style Box I resubscribed to after they had a Black Friday deal of only $16 for their December box, and Scentbird lets you discover a new perfume of your choice each month and you get to pick the scent.

Check out the Nov./December Subscription Box Review
BOXYCHARM
Find your inner sparkle and let it shine brightly with this month's Boxycharm. Bedazzled with brilliant gems, this month's box will add a little twinkle in your eye and plenty of glitz and glamour this is perfect for the holiday, Get your Sparkle & Shine on!
MicaBeauty Eye Primer ($44.95)
OFRA Cosmetics Pressed Blush ($24.95)
Tarina Tarantino Eyelicity Glitter Liner ($16)
Kevin Murphy Color Bug ($20-$25)
bellapiere Shimmer Powder ($14.99)
November's box was a hit for this Tarantino Eyeliner alone. Is that not the most badass galactic rainbow glitter color you've ever seen? It looks exactly like it does in the tube too, black with holographic multi glitter, such a rad effect to liven up black liquid liner. Might pull this one out on NYE!

The Micabeauty eye primer has a creamy consistency that dries powdery. I've only worn it one day but it makes a nice soft base for blending shadow's. OFRA's blush is heavily pigmented and huge! Beautiful shimmering raspberry. Kevin Murphy hair products are a new favorite of mine and so is lavender hair. Color bugs let you add temporary color to your hair with out the commitment.

Before I could review November it was already December and December's Box was here! Where did the month go?
December "Jingle Belles" Boxycharm
Coastal Scents Revealed Palette ($39.95)
Lina Lashes Luxury Mink Lashes ($30)
Mistura Beauty Solutions Retractable Beauty Brush ($19.99)
Be a Bombshell Lip Product ($14)
Eva NYC Hair Products ($7-$12)

Another set of excellent products in December's Boxycharm. Best of all was the Coastal Scents Revealed Palette.

Coastal Scents hasn't been on my radar in some time, but this palette makes me want to revisit. Revealed mimics the NAKEDS and has some gorgeous neutral shades. It's not as pigmented as UD, which I actually like. The shadow colors are so flattering and I love that its got a lot of cool toned options. If you own and love the nakeds this one is absolutely worth getting too.

The Mink Lashes are so glamorous and have a full flirty shape. Mistura Retractable Brush is super soft and convenient for the purse. With Be a Bomshell lip pencil didn't expect a shimmery coral color, not very "Holiday", but this color is a unique one. Orange Coral with a frosty finish. That sounds hideous I know but it will look awesome against tan skin in the Summer.

I almost bought Eva NYC Clean it Up Shampoo earlier this week and here it is in BoxyCharm! It smells sweetly of vanilla and is enriched with Argan Oil...but after one use it's not that special and kind of drying. Glad I was able to try out the trial size first.

Over and over again Boxycharm never fails to impress me with the value and quality products they put in to their boxes. Ever product is full size and amazing! Best beauty box you can buy for sure and a steal at only $21/mo.

SocialBliss Style Box
Socialbliss had a Black Friday sale that took $16 off your subscription which dropped the box down to only $16. I wanted to subscribe to this box again because they always include really great trendy accessories and handbags. The December box has a Holiday theme bringing out fierce mettalic accents and a little extra sparkle.
December Social Bliss Style Box
The Minaudiere Bag ($35)
Open Teardrop Bangle ($15)
Ornament Jewels Set ($20)
Seasonal Statement Scarf ($27)
Snowflake Stencil Earrings ($18)

The only item I liked in the Style Box was the teardrop bangle. Every thing else looked and felt like cheap china produced jewelry you could buy for a few dollars.

The two most valuable items in the Style Box this month were this clutch and scarf. Really? Is this box targeted to 80 year olds? The clutch was so ugly, and why does it look like a flask? It was also so hard to open and that scarf was again...very Grandma. I was pretty disappointed with the Social Bliss December's Style Box. This subscription was one of my favorite's for Fashion and it really missed the mark. I'm glad I only paid $16 for it and not the $50 with shipping that is is regularly. I almost think because so many people ordered this box on sale that they cut the cost on quality. Step it up Style Box!

Scentbird.com is a monthly perfume subscription that lets you discover a new perfume each month. For $14.95 you will receive a sleek Scentbird purse spray filled with a generous 1 month supply (0.27oz/8ml) of the perfume of your choice. Shipping and handling are included. Next month you can choose a new perfume or receive another monthly supply of your favorite.

I don't get to wear perfume often because of allergies so I can rarely justify spending the money on a full size bottle that I may or may not wear. Never making it through a whole bottle of perfume before switching to something else I love what Scentbird is doing here.
The spritzer is sleek black and with a turn it pops up to spray and you can turn it back down and put it away. This is the perfect amount of perfume to me. You don't get some pretty bottle to display on your vanity but you do get one you can pop in your purse and isn't wasteful. I only wish they had these labelled with your perfume choice because it might become confusing if you accumulate a few of them.
The perfume I chose was Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb. I've always loved this scent and am happy to have it in my collection now. Scentbird carries over 300+ designer scents and they're always 100% authentic. With the perfume finder quiz they make recommendations on what other scents you might also like and you can make a queue your favorite perfumes for 12 months.

Scentbird is to my knowledge one of the first of its kind. This is a great way to try out scents before buying full size and a way to add to your perfume collection with out breaking the bank. What I really like is that you can choose the exact perfume you want. Smell amazing, spend smart!
