In my Coachella Beauty Bag (traveling makeup-light)

One advantage to blogging is that it's like your own little reference book. All I had to do was look back on my Coachella Beauty Essentials to see what to pack for this weekend. Checking glamour at the gate and taking the "less is more" approach this time around. It's hot...like really..95 degrees hot, sweaty, dirty, and if it wasn't? What fun would that be? SPF, quick lip, some eye makeup that won't run and you're set. Half of these people won't even be showering for the better of 3 days, just this is pretty high maintenance.

I tried to copy my BFF who manages to pack all of her makeup in to one of those tiny "normal people's" makeup bags, something I can never do! You really don't need 25 eyeshadow's and lipstick's for 3 days in the desert...or ever.... yet I still feel like something's missing. I'll probably sneak in the Naked Basics palette and a few Bright Lipstick's last minute :)
Keep Reading for a mini-review of each item
Enjoy the Festival season!

BB Tinted Treatment 12 hour Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen

BB tinted treatment 12 hour primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen ($34)
Almost every brand has a BB Cream out right now, but none I've tried so far have held up to the Asian market's. I loved the Misha and Skin79, but sadly both broke me out. I got a deluxe sample of tarte's at Sephora and fell in love with it. It works as a primer to blur imperfections and mattify the skin, has light coverage, and an SPF 30. I don't have to touch up my makeup all day when I wear this, powder isn't even necessary. This is the only face makeup I'm taking with me, it's just that good :)

Milani Eyeshadow Primer ($6.49)
This new eyeshadow primer from Milani is not only great for a drugstore product, it's great period. A lightweight formula that dries down invisible and matte. Excellent for oily lids and heat and humidity. I experience no creasing with this for hours on end, and best of all it's the only primer that keeps my makeup from settling in my fine under eye lines. Not even UDPP could do that.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow Birthday Suit ($19)
Benefit's Birthday Suit is easy no-brainer eye makeup. Swipe the mettalic taupe cream shadow on with the fingers and blend in to the crease. The eyes look polished with out any effort or brushes. If Birthday Suit doesn't suit you, Benefit makes many more flattering shades to choose from.
Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat ($21) over Milani Grandissimo Lashes Mascara ($5.49)
Milani's Grandissimo Lashes is the mascara i'm currently test driving. It has a huge brush that gives substantial thickness to the lashes. Doesn't clump, smear, smudge, irritate the eyes, and pumps up the volume? Passes the mascara test in my book! Lash Genius, reviewed here, is applied over your regular mascara to instantly waterproof it. Your lashes will survive every weather element. Also tossing in the new Anastasia Lash Tint in Electric Blue for some color. Review coming up!
Anastasia Covet Waterproof Eyeliner Noir ($19)
Covet Eyeliner has a smooth application with a thin tip for sleek lines. Noir is an intense black that's perfect for a quick cat eye or a sooty rocked out smokey eye. It's self-sharpening and the waterproof formula gives hours of smudge-proof budge-proof  non-melting eyeliner. It's seriously bulletproof. Even with makeup remover it's a challenge to get off. If you have issues with liner not staying put on the waterline, check this one out.
theBalm Beauty Queen Stainiac ($17)
A multi-purpose product really comes in handy when traveling light. Staniac is a two-in-one hint of tint for the cheeks and lips. The gel formula makes it much easier to apply and blend than the usual watery stains. Beauty Queen gives a natural flush to the cheeks, but my favorite way to wear it is as a lip stain. The clean berry pink looks like mlbb and feels light like you're not wearing anything on your lips.

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm Stick SPF 20
It's hard not to collect all of the Baby Lips tinted lip balms! My favorite is Pink Punch, a glossy cool   bubblegum pink that tastes like fruit punch.
LA Fresh Eco-Beauty Wipes
LA Fresh individual packaged wipes are so convenient for on the go makeup removal and freshening up. They have a facial cleanser, makeup remover (fragrance & fragrance free), body soother, nail polish remover, antiperspirant, hand sanitizer, and the list goes on! LA Fresh products are 100% biodegradable and made with luscious nautral ingredients not icky chemicals. The Beauty Wipes for Tote & Travel 18 pack ($9.99) is a great way to try out the entire Eco-Beauty Line. These are soo convenient to keep in your purse or even in your pocket. I'm taking the Waterproof Makeup Remover which removes even the most stubborn waterproof mascara, Oil-Free Face Cleanser to refresh my skin mid-day, and the Instant Body Soother, which has natural peppermint oil in it to cool and soothe the skin after a long hot day. Skinmedica Environmental Defense Sunscreen SPF 30+ & 50+ ($45)
Environmental Defense is the sunscreen I wear daily. A broad sepectrum UV protective formula that melds right in to the skin with out feeling heavy or leaving any residue. It's incredibly longwearing and water-resistant, rarely do I get burnt even if I forget to re-apply.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock Body Mist, SPF 70
I bought this spray on sunscreen on my trip to Hawaii and barely got a tan for weeks! I'm not sure if that's a good thing, I could probably use a little color :) The spray on formula makes it easy to apply throughout the day. If you're going carry on only too, pick it up at Walgreens on the way out.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo ($11)
Klorane Dry Shampoo is the bessst dry shampoo imo, but I needed something non-aerosol. This one from Oscar Blandi is a great quick fix. The powder really sucks up oily roots and the lemon verbena scent makes your hair smell freshly washed.

Along with taking the easy lip color of  Lipstick Queen Chinatown's, check out the newly released Stila Afterglow Lip Color Pencil's. How brilliant do these look? They contain flourescent pigments that make them three times brighter than conventional lipcolors. Vivid color in the sun and glow's under UV light, perfect for the tents! Or if you want to get crazy and draw war paint on yourself...which at some point WILL happen :)
