Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Is it too bold to say this is the only eyeshadow palette you will need this Holiday Season? I think not! Since I picked this bronze glittery jewel up it is all I have been wearing on my eyes. Sultry Eyeshadow Palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills is an essential smoky eye shadow palette with fourteen shades ranging from golden mattes to bronzy metallics. While Sultry isn't a completely "cool" palette, it actually has some cool tones and bucks the trend of boring repetitive warm matte eyeshadows. That is enough for me! Lets take a look!

This is my first Anastasia palette purchase in ages. While all of the previous ones looked wonderful in terms of quality they were heavily warm or purple toned. Two things I absolutely hate. When I saw Sultry I knew it had to be mine. I picked it up on the day it was released and have had it in heavy rotation ever since.

Bonus points for the gorgeous packaging Anastasia. Most of the time the way something looks doesn't effect me one way or another, but this packaging is too dang pretty. That bronze sparkly business is sealed in so there won't be glitter dust over everything. It looks so fancy and makes you want to pick it up over all the others. Not to mention, with the texture it eliminates any fingerprints or product from lingering on the outside. I also love that Anastasia doesn't make their palette's overly bulky so they are easy to store.

These shadows feature Anastasia Beverly Hills’ signature full-pigment, and easy-to-blend formula. They are not kidding. Every shade from matte to shimmer feels like liquid silk gliding effortlessly over the lids and buffing out easily. The palette also includes double-ended brush for effortless application. The dual ended brush is dense and soft and perfect for blending out the shadows.

I am completely in love with this palette. The shadows pigment and blendability is incredible. I would have paid $20 for each one of these eyeshadows they are that good. Thankfully, this palette only runs $45 which is a great deal.

Color-wise, Sultry is fantastic for a cool-toned lover like myself. It gives you those necessary matte cool toned shades that I personally love for crease and defining the eyes. There is also warmth in here too, it is just not done in that obnoxious everything orange way. I would go as far to say it's almost equally split. This is a refined and sophisticated color palette that can be worn outside of Instagram and outside of the house with out looking ridiculous. I hope this is a sign that eyeshadow palettes are cooling off again.

  • Fresh (matte ivory pink)
  • Pearl (metallic pearl-white w/ a soft pink undertone)
  • Steampunk (metallic topaz bronze)
  • Rose Quartz (metallic soft peach w/ a pink shift)
  • Ember (metallic bronzed khaki)
  • Bloom (matte coral pink)
  • Birch (matte mid-tone yellow-taupe)
  • Cinder (metallic cool-tone beige taupe w/ gold flecks)
  • Twig (matte mid-tone taupe)
  • Teak (metallic golden brown)
  • Dystopian (matte dark ash-brown)
  • Cyborg (metallic silver w/ a violet undertone)
  • Slate (matte slate grey)
  • Noir (matte deep black)
This palette is marketed as sexy, and smokey and while it can be you can also create some beautiful wearable neutral looks with it as well. There is no skimping on the smokey though. and Noir are super intense matte shades that go on just as intense. Bloom is the odd man out here, I don't think they needed this bright matte coral shade but it does add some flare to a rather regular neutrals palette.

The best thing ever though is those shimmers. They are STUNNING. So shimmery and sparkly with out being garish. Cyborg is a star, it is the more incredible silvery lavender metallic that looks so good on my green eyes. The other shades are warmer, golden, browns that work beautifully for Fall and just everyday makeup in general. Steampunk is an awesome gold. The only fault I could find with the whole palette is some of the shimmer shades have some minimal sparkles fall out. This is pretty easily rememdied by applying with your finger. I think they go on more intense that way anyways.

Can't say enough good things about the Anastasia Sultry Palette! This is a fantastic palette with gorgeous colors and perfect color payoff. Definitely put it in your cart NOW! Sephora has the $15-$20 off going on right now and Ulta has 20% Off. It's the one gift I would give yourself!
