Halloween FOTD - Blind Mag

Tonight I'm going as Blind Mag from Repo! The Genetic Opera. This look works for an array of costumes... Lady Marmalade,Gothic/Vampire, Dead Bride, Dark Fairy, Fallen Angel etc., It's all about EXTREME Lashes, layer them on feathery & thick! I made mine with 5 PAIRS! I had so much fun doing this because 1. I love ridiculous lashes and 2. It's such a dramatic departure from how I normally look, I almost feel like a totally different person! Now, I'm off to finish feathering my costume and do makeup for my darling Amber Sweet. Happy almost Halloween!

Halloween FOTD - Terminatrix

Photobucket
One of my Dad's favorite movies is theTerminator and he's always quoting lines from it, so I got the idea to do a terminator/cyborg look for my gig tonight. Light on the gore with the monroemisfitmakeup glamour twist. I wanted it to look as if my face had been ripped away revealing my true form. I rarely do SPX gore makeup, obviously!, that and "face paint" just aren't my genre. So if I can give it a go, anyone can.

Halloween FOTD - I am Doll Parts

Heading to a "Dolls" themed halloween party tonight and this is what I came up with! I thought Barbie was bleh too boring, anyone can put on a wig and pink eyeshadow, so I browsed google and found the above image and combined it with the MAC halloween face chart. Kind of a Cracked Dolly or Demented Little Bo Peep. I wanted this to have more depth like a human eye and less "Anime" but I didn't have the right products on hand. This could pass for two looks in one. With the eyes open it's a broken doll, then close them and you're a crazy animated dolly with a gauged out eye. Way to trip out your drunk friends!

It's kind of hard to take pictures of yourself with your eyes closed but i tried!

Halloween FOTD - Mark Ryden "Blood"

I've always loved Mark Ryden's disturbingly beautiful artwork, his books are a constant staple on my coffee table for inspiration. This is my interpretation of the paintings "Rose" & "Wound" from the collection Blood: Miniature Painting's of Sorrow and Fear.

Halloween FOTD - Minnie Mouse

I finally decided on my Halloween costume... Cuttin it close! The "Playful" Minnie Mouse. I'm a total disney freak and I thought this was cute, not too scandalous, and I loved the huge bow in the back. I went to Disneyland for the first time in years over the summer, i'm always in LA but never make time to go, and it was just as magical as I remembered!I never wanted to be anything but Minnie Mouse, JEM, Cyndi Lauper, or Madonna for Halloween EVER..not terribly different from every day now :)

For the makeup run through I decided to take the literal approach keeping attention to detail on the bright blue liner w/ 3 long lashes. Pair it with a cartoonish red lip and you're ready to go! I know not everyone likes to spend hours doing makeup on Halloween and this is a quickie.

Another option is to pull from the yellow in her shoes and do a yellow liner
or you could always go this route...

Halloween FOTD - Warhol Electro Blonde

I'm a huge fan of Pop Art, you may have noticed the Marilyn warhol's behind my vanity in photo's. I have the punchy graphic images from various Artist's scattered about my home. Marilyn Monroe is always popular for Halloween, but I wanted to do something a little more original, so I created this look based on if I were an Andy Warhol image.

NOTE: NO altering of the makeup coloring was used in these images. I painted myself 4 shades of Pink... as you can see from the aftermath above haha talk about a process to remove :)
